Summary:
In the spring of 2006 the Goodman theatre requested KlearSky to develop an application
to assist with their complex casting, auditioning and literary management process.
KlearSky found this to be an exciting opportunity to provide a robust software solution
for production and artistic management to the performing arts. Thus, KS Limelight
was born.
The previous casting process at the Goodman theatre consisted of Excel spreadsheets, access
forms and manual, paper document management. The casting approach, although well
executed, required extensive hands-on work with few productivity advantages from
the repeat process. There was no software mechanism in place for tracking agents,
agencies, attributes and special skills. The casting process at the Goodman theatre was
a prime candidate for change and KlearSky was prepared to provide the solution.
